In late 2001 Alistair auditioned for a kids’ tv gameshow/quiz, and was soon informed he could participate. We went to the studio with him and were quite impressed by the way all the personnel from compère, floor director to technicians were so capable and kind in dealing with children. It was an interesting afternoon but a long wait until the show was eventually broadcast. Alistair was on the winning team for that week – so we had to ensure we taped the show. And this was interesting also because the editing had so improved the show.
Alistair’s team consisted of him and two friends (one the son of Cheong and Sherri, who are seen elsewhere in our website) and they won convincingly against three slightly older boys. Indeed both in the quiz sections and the more physical parts they normally scored rather higher than their opponents. Well done.
Alistair was the “pourer” in the final, physical, activity and, since he poured the last bucket completely into the container even though the time buzzer went off during the action, it was just as well they were sufficiently ahead to win even if this had been taken into account!
